YT wallpaper

YT- I like the grain idea but could it be more 3d like your application in your project- instead of flat.... I was wondering whether you could repeat/ rotate/ scale/ mirror these drawings- or a version of them (without hands)... what do you think?

Aras Wallpaper

Aras- your wallpaper seems a bit simplistic considering how far you went in the process to understand the cavities etc. in the drawings.... from the stone project. Can you not use this drawing, below and scale/ repeat maybe?

Borromini- for Artemis & Aine

Borromini used a specific hierarchy of served vs. servant spaces. Niches in plan are joined by domes and coffers in ceilings. Think about ways to address thickness, concealment, apertures, residual spaces and how these conditions help to describe the organisation of spaces within your hotels. Look at the thicknesses + dashed lines- very simple....

Axonometric/ Exploded drawings

Here are a selection of drawings from previous student work as discussed on Friday 15th.

It is less important to show the entire building and its mechanics- and more important to describe a story- a journey through spaces both internal and external or the organisation and hierarchy of different spaces within.

Mark Smith- Exploded axo of Silvertown Housing

Yeehui Khoo- City Farm/ Freight distribution centre

Sejima Okurayama project for Joe

These are some images of Sejima's Okuruyama project recently completed- to inspire. Notice that the ground is sometimes continuous and the cavities create outdoor 'rooms' and overlapped blocks that have no front or back but a more complex layered morphology. Your block gives specific constraints about blank flank walls. Where do you get your light from? Which areas overlap and where?

Representing urban changes

These are some examples of urban change mapped by David Bellasi, UEL unit E 2004-5. These studies and techniques may be useful for Aine and Artemis especially- to show the layers of change. These were taken from a 61 page group site research document the unit produced for a site in Old Street.

Conversations- for Zach

Zach- these are some diagrams of blogging conversations online. I know that they are fairly abstract but are there ways in which you could plot a conversation whilst people are walking and show the interaction and crossover on your map of Tower Hill? You could plot the real conversations on the map also...

Fushimi Inari Taisha Map- For Zach, Joe and YT

This is a schematic of Fushimi Inari. You can use this alongside the Google map to orientate yourself. I noticed that contours are also on the google map so modelling of the topography is possible. Hope this helps
