Lead, Rubber, Concrete

Continuing my exploration on the potential of lead as a flexible formwork, the idea for this project is to cast layers of synthetic rubber and fast drying concrete in order to create different materials being articulated in the same mould. The malleable lead allows the formwork to have a transformation of complex surfaces.

This looks pretty interesting- did you cast with a fine plaster? Could the lead formwork also form voids internally? Looking forward to see how this has turned out! Jonathan

The model was casted using synthetic rubber and quick drying cement. I am also trying to form another model by using lead to form the internal voids. Will upload the images once the formwork is ready.
